As were getting closer to the deadline the model is beginning to take shape. Most of the components are painted and ready for assembly. Breaking down the geometry into simple forms has made the painting process far easier and should allow for the model to go together like an Air-fix kit. But keeping track of all the parts has been difficult. I've had to re-make a wall or window here and there after misplacing them. Luckily, the number/lettering system I have devised has made the whole process a lot more refined preventing me from going through each wall and window individually to find its place.

My paint plan for the model has gone smoothly aside from a couple of issues with speckling. As I've used veneer from two different lime wood trees its proved difficult to find the perfect tone to compliment both dedicating a day to mixing up and testing colours has led me to choose a light beige colour made by mixing the primary colours to form a base dark chocolatey brown that's slightly heavy on the red to help bring out the grain tones from the more reddish veneer. This was then added little by little to a fur white creating a tone that also matches the lighter slightly yellowish veneer.
Speckling the building supports has had a few snags, as the spray gun I was using would suddenly jump from a light speckle, (that hints at colours to help pull the palette of my model together) to a heavy splatter. Although annoying the problem was easy enough to counter as the speckled tones are quite bold colours. By applying a light coat of my lime wood colour over the top the speckle still shines through in the subliminal way intended.
As for cutting and assembling the veneer cladding this has gone well so far aside from some minor issues with walls not fitting into their cut outs on the ceiling however with some patience, a sharp scalpel and a tad bit of sandpaper here and there everything should fit snugly by the deadline. The plan originally was to make all roofs removeable. However, this has changed to just the living modules as they are the only ones with pitched or gabled options. Therefore, making it an unnecessary feature for the central module.
